It is this pre-season dryland program that will help the athletes excel at competitions and reach their highest potential.

Once the competition season begins, students will travel for weeks at a time to various competitions. Weekly training and competition schedules will vary according to the dyrland program, competition schedules and athlete results.

Nordic Program

The training Philosophy of the Black Jack Nordic Academy is based upon individual goals in conjunction with an extensive pre-season dryland training program. We believe this training philosophy is superior for a number of reasons. By focusing on physical development in the summer and fall pre-season, athletes are in top condition and ready to focus on competitions during the ski season. With top coaches, like Dave Wood (former Canadian National Team Head Coach), working with athletes and developing the training and competition schedule, young athletes are being provided the tools necessary to excel as a mature athlete.

Results

Black Jack Ski Club has been in existence since 1983 offering nordic development programs to youth and adults alike. Recent athletes to emerge from these programs are Olympian George Grey (2006 & 2010) and Rebecca Reid (17) who was recently selected to compete with the National Team and who competed in the Junior World Cup Championships and World Cup this past winter.

By offering world-class coaching and state-of-the-art training facilities, it’s no surprise that of 15 young athletes invited to compete int he 2010 National Championships, 6 were from Black Jack Ski Club earning 8 medals in total.
